BioI teach writing at two Chicago universities, and live in the suburbs to be near (and, half the time, live with) My Magnificent Progeny. I'm divorced--if not happily so, then "better than the alternative" so. In my spare time (gigglesnort) I write speculative fiction.
I like science fiction and fantasy literature and film. I'm interested in gender studies and mythology and "alternative religions" and the social sciences. I used to think that one could discriminate between people based on their preference for _Jane Eyre_ or _Wuthering Heights_; now, I don't know what to think.
